Privacy Policy
Plain-language summary: this site has no accounts, forms or comments, and it does not use analytics or advertising. We do not ask you for personal information. A few third-party services do see your IP address when the page loads, as described below.
1. Who we are
"Beginner's Guide for Minecraft" is an unofficial fan-made website for new players, written in Canadian English. It is run by its owner, based in Canada. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
- Information you give us: none. There are no sign-ups, contact forms, comments or purchases on this site.
- Server logs: our web host automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is standard for every website and is used for security and to keep the site running.
- Data stored on your device: none. The "Lucky Block Spin" game keeps its state only while the page is open and saves nothing in your browser.
3. Third-party services
To display the page, your browser loads files from these providers. They receive your IP address and browser details when it does:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) for the typefaces. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Tailwind CSS CDN (cdn.tailwindcss.com) for page styling.
The "Start Playing" buttons link to minecraft.net, which is run by Mojang/Microsoft and has its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites.
4. Cookies and tracking
We do not set cookies, and we do not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking. If we add any of these in the future, we will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
5. Children
Minecraft is popular with young players. This site does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Your rights in Canada
Canadian privacy law, including the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for Quebec residents, Law 25, gives you rights over your personal information, such as asking what we hold about you, asking us to correct or delete it, and withdrawing consent. Because we collect almost nothing, there is usually little to share, but write to us at [email protected] and we will respond. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
7. Security and retention
We keep only the server logs our host retains by default, and we do not sell or share personal information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version.
This policy is a good-faith template written for a simple fan site. It is not legal advice. Have a lawyer in your province review it before launch.
