Shaders Mods 1.17.1/1.16.5 adds extremely realistic graphics – Even though it’s named Mod, Shaders mod is not exactly a mod like we all know them. This means that it won’t add mobs or items or skills or worlds to the vanilla version of Minecraft. What it does is improve the graphics and visuals of your game due to shaders packs.

As the name implies, Shaders relate to the shades, textures and general visuals of the games; let’s learn a bit more about them.

What are Shader Packs made for Minecraft?

Shaders are a series of modifications that can get installed by packs into your game and improve the graphs and general visuals of your worlds significantly, making them considerably more realistic.

Among the options we can improve or affect with these packs, we can find realistic shades, dynamic illumination, and even weather changes such as lightning, cloudy skies, etc.

It’s important to remember that while installing shaders will considerably improve the graphs of your game, the better it looks, the more impact your game performance will suffer. These effects need a high rate of resource consumption, and some computers can’t even take it, so if yours is a slow one, you better forget about shaders mods with extreme graphics.

Of course, some of the packs are heavier than others, so many of them could work even on a not-so-fast computer.

The effects are quite subtle, but when put all together and appreciating the general looks, you’ll see a significant difference. Some of them are the shades of course; the effect of water and fire, the light reflection over the surfaces or dynamic illusion of the light according to the hour of the day.

You can also generate other effects like wind, smooth water movements, and relief in the blocks, etc.

So what’s precisely Shaders Mod?

When the shaders first came out, this mod was the only way to install the packs. The mod worked as an installing program to have access to the packages. Nowadays, you only need to install Optifine and then add all the shader packs you want.

Nevertheless, old Minecraft versions and even some specific packs still need shaders mod to run accordingly. But most likely you won’t need the mod to install them.
